As featured on the Drapers website: “The designer’s cotton shopping bag bearing the slogan ‘I’m not a plastic bag’ was praised by the judging panel for “her ability to inspire change by making it fashionable”. The bags, were launched in 2007, aimed at encouraging shoppers to use less plastic bags. Hindmarch said she hoped her achievements would inspire others. She added: “Hopefully, women will sit up and realise it’s really exciting starting a business.” Hindmarch founded her business aged 19 and now has 57 shops worldwide.
