Fendi: All about the extravagant high-octane glamour

Famed for its Baguette bag, the Nineties must-have for any fashion conscious woman, Fendi focuses on extravagant high-octane glamour.

Currently under the creative influence of Karl Lagerfeld, who has also worked closely with Chanel, the brand has expanded into eyewear, watches and fragrance. Fendi is known for its dedication to glamorous womenswear and classically tailored menswear.

ALL LIES IN THE PAST

Opened in Rome as a fur and leather shop in 1925, the company has since become a multinational symbol for luxury goods. Self-confessed perfectionist, Karl, led Fendi to the forefront of fur fashion, creating the first ready-to-wear fur collection in 1969. Their experimentation with the material continues today, to a great degree of controversy.

FENDI STYLE

Aside from the sleek Baguette bag, more recent styles have adopted a roomier and more functional dynamic to their popular counterpart. The Peekaboo and Silvana  bags have a sophisticated charm to them, with simple structured bodies that make them ideal for the office. The Roll design is slightly slouchier and more laid back, making it ideal for a relaxed morning coffee in the sunshine.

PERFECT FOR

Women who like an investment purchase. These timeless designs defy changing trends and seasons, and in a range of neutral colours – rusty browns and sleek greys and blacks – go with everything your wardrobe throws at it.
