Pastel Colours: How To Wear Them

Wherever you look this season ice cream colours will be aplenty. From the hottest runways, to your favourite fashion mags and the most style-savvy celebrities, this is one trend that love it or hate it, you won’t be able to avoid.

This yummy, soft palette takes me back to my childhood, and I’m ready, and willing, to fully embrace it. For optimum trend points, it’s all about colour blocking. Think last season’s eclectic bright flashes of pop colour, just toned down.

If you’re feeling shy, our best advice is to start small and build on it. Choose a pale nail varnish shade, or a cute coin purse to begin with, or, if you’re feeling a little braver, choose an oversized clutch to make a statement, or a tuxedo blazer for a chic Parisian look.

Still feeling flustered? Find out below how BagServant.co.uk would style each scrummy shade.

Lemon Sorbet – This is undoubtedly the easiest to work with if you’ve got a classical wardrobe. Team a crisp white blouse and ankle grazing black trousers with a lemon yellow clutch for effortless power woman. Keep accessories simple for a clean, minimalist approach.

Mint Choc Chip – This pale green look works great with low-key grey pieces. Pair your slouchy t-shirt, and a pastel coloured pair of jeans with chunky heel boots and a mint green tote for a simple, and casual, everyday look.

Tutti Frutti – If you’re a fan of pretty florals, then a light purple shade will work for you. Team a teeny clutch with your favourite summer dress and a bold pair of platform heels for a statement spring outfit.

Blueberry – If you’ve got a pair of pale blue jeans in your wardrobe, this is ideal for your first foray into colour blocking. A pale blue tote is particularly versatile because it’ll go with most other common wardrobe colours (black, white, grey, camel).

Mango Sorbet – We love a cute orange satchel to instantly awaken our wardrobe. To get into full summertime swing, team yours with a white blazer and some great tribal accessories. Simple, elegant and so far away from girlie, you’ll forget you were even trying out pastels!

Strawberry - So easy to make you feel five again. To roughen it up team a baby pink clutch with your leather jacket and a thigh-grazing mini. Accessorize with ankle boots and a high bun for a Saturday night on the town.
