It’s that time of year again when, aside from hoping for a spot of sunshine and admiring the daffodils, we’re on the hunt for mothers day presents. I really struggle to buy for both parents, they seem to have it all already, and despite gardening tool suggestions, I can think of something far prettier, and just as practical.
Welcome the humble purse. As every woman knows, it’s a necessity to get it right. The wrong purse could mean countless coins lost at the bottom of your bag or (if you stuff in too many receipts) a broken zip. So I thought I’d make this shopping experience one step easier, by making a list of BagServant’s favourite Mother’s Day gift – the purse.
Why does she need it? Because a girl will rarely treat herself to a new purse because, unlike most fashion items, they don’t dip in and out of trend. But a newer, prettier purse that shows off my personality would be a very welcome change from my too small, black affair. Whatever your age, a good functional product never ceases to amaze, and it’s oh so much more charming if it happens to be beautiful too.
Orla Kiely Punched Acorn Purse – £125 – This purse really reminds me of spring, and is perfect if your mother is a keen gardener or nature lover. I love the all-in-one feel of it, the way everything is all tucked away under one zip, which makes it extra practical and tidy.
Salvatore Ferragamo Chocolate Wallet – £275 – This luxurious wallet has a gorgeous dimpled leather that really melts your heart, The deep classical colour will go with any handbag. A great choice if you’ve got a picky mother with a taste for the finer things.
Cath Kidston Spring Bouquet Zip Wallet – £25 – I love the countryside charm of Cath Kidston, which is really in fashion right now and makes me feel really cheerful. This compact wallet actually has 12 card slots and two extra slots as well as the standard coin and notes sections.
Chloe Sally Long Wallet – £380 – There’s something so metropolitan about this design, and the pebbled leather is so chic. You’d probably want to steal this off your mum, and I don’t blame you. Inside the leather is just as incredibly textured, and has three sections, one of them zipped.
John Lewis Large Flapover Purse – £39 – The incredible organisation purse, for women who carry their wallets more overfilled than their bags. This little scarlet beauty has 13 compartments and 20 card slots, which is truly amazing, if like me, you need your purse to support your lifestyle. A real bargain too!
