What wardrobe essentials do you think every woman should own and why?
I think it’s important to have a variety of key pieces that can be mixed and matched throughout the year so that you don’t have to spend a fortune on a new wardrobe every season.
Every woman should have a beautiful crisp white shirt to flatter and accentuate their best features – there are so many styles to choose from that it’s easy to find something that flatters your figure.
A well made little black dress is a timeless and sophisticated key piece. It can be worn day and night and you can jazz up with accessories, or keep it simple. Make sure to choose a style that suits your body shape and you will be guaranteed to wear it again and again.
A black or dark blazer is another key piece that matches everything. You can change the look just by changing the accessories. Everyone can wear a single-breasted blazer comfortably and have the option of wearing it over dresses, skirts and trousers. An open fitted blazer can really flatter and add definition to a curvy figure. Pair with a statement necklace for an on-trend look.
A classic mac. This is a necessary wardrobe essential as it is fashionable all year round. Make sure you choose a style and length that achieves the look you want and that also fits the shoulders well. I love wearing my classic beige mac (sometimes with oversize-rounded sunglasses which completes a very glamorous, sophisticated look).
A well-fitting pair of jeans is an essential for a relaxed day and weekend look. Every girl needs a classic pair of favourite jeans that flatter her figure and are comfortable. Curvier figures should opt for wide leg jeans and athletic shapes look stunning in skinny jeans. A flattering pair of jeans is a versatile item, which can be dressed up with heels and blazer or dressed-down with cute ballet pumps and a leather jacket.
A black leather bag is the perfect everywhere bag, matching all outfits day and night. It should be medium sized, large enough to hold everything during the day but not too large that it looks awkward on a night out.
Statement heels always finish off an outfit and I think every woman feels fabulous in high heels. Heels help to elongate legs, which flatters summery dresses, skirts or shorts and helps to trick the eye to give the impression of a perfect summer-ready body!
I think patent heels lift an outfit day or night.
