As a big handbag lover I tend to carry my everyday essentials and more. Can you suggest some evening bags that might match my light pink maxi dress and nude coloured wedges? Thanks.

A: Hi there. I find that I have the same problem to when I go to weddings, I never know if the clutch I’m going to take is going to be too big or too small. I suggest that you take an oversized clutch, that way you can carry your flats in the bag just in case!

Why not try wearing the Frenchonista Debbie Clutch. The gold metallic finish on the clutch will not only be a perfect match for your dress but will add a bit of sparkle without going overboard. The clutch also has a unique structure as you have to fold it over to carry it.

If your not brave enough to wear a  metallic bag then you can always go for a classic black number. The BIBA Faith Embossed clutch is a standout piece as it has gold detailing on the side and is a unique piece from the iconic brand.

Finally if you are looking for something a little different then why not have a look at designer Lulu Guinness’s Lip clutch. It is slightly daring and unusual but it will definitely  give you attention for ALL the right reasons.

Here are the three I have suggested and a few more – hope you get the inspiration you need!

Mulberry Cosmetic Purse: The perfect storage for your make-up http://bagservant.co.uk/content/mulberry-cosmetic-purse-the-perfect-storage-for-your-make-up/ http://bagservant.co.uk/content/mulberry-cosmetic-purse-the-perfect-storage-for-your-make-up/#comments Thu, 01 Nov 2012 12:31:51 +0000 http://bagservant.co.uk/content/?p=18492184736 We hope October has treated you well! Here at BagServant HQ with Halloween gone, I definitely think that it’s the perfect time of year to give ourselves a  treat with the clocks going back and Winter is only around the corner.

Talking about Winter, it has reminded me to invest in a new makeup bag for my handbag. My poor Mulberry Del Ray bag always has a lipstick or eyeliner rolling around at the bottom. That’s why I have finally decided to invest in this beautiful Mulberry Locket Cosmetic Purse that comes in a Pink and Flame colours.

The cosmetic bag has not only  fitted my makeup stash but also felt incredibility luxurious. So if you’re someone who can’t resist a slice of designer goodness then this might be the make-up bag for you.

Help! I Want a Designer Handbag For Less http://bagservant.co.uk/content/help-i-want-a-designer-handbag-for-less/ http://bagservant.co.uk/content/help-i-want-a-designer-handbag-for-less/#comments Tue, 02 Oct 2012 12:03:23 +0000 http://bagservant.co.uk/content/?p=18492184404 Our resident Style Guru, Lenka, answers all your style dilemmas, shopping queries and more… @miss_servant

This week, one of our followers wanted to know how she could get a designer handbag for less. Samantha comes to the rescue with her top tips…

Q: Hi Lenka, I have a true passion for handbags and in particular designer bags. However, money has been a little tight lately and I have cut down on my spending. But my birthday is coming up and I feel like treating myself to a gorgeous new designer handbag as I haven’t bought anything for myself in so long. I long Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Tory Burch but I don’t think my budget will stretch as I only want to spend between £200-£250 maximum and would like an everyday bag. I know that Marc Jacobs amongst others have brought out cheaper ranges and I wanted to know are they any good? Do they still look like designer bags? Thanks so much. Annie B, London.

A: Hi Annie. I understand your frustration. We all love a designer handbag and when times are tough we end up losing out on those luxuries. And the problem is, we could buy cheaper bags but then we compromise on quality and the bags don’t last as long so really we are back to square one. Yes you are right, Marc Jacobs (Marc by Marc Jacobs), Michael Kors (Michael Michael Kors), Alexander McQueen (McQ) and many others have brought out ‘diffusion ranges’ which are more affordable but not lacking in quality and they still have the same edge as their main lines. With your budget you will definitely be able to feed your handbag addiction and I think the diffusion ranges are a great way to do this. And remember, the sales are on so you might get your dream bag after all. Additionally, don’t be afraid of new designers. Their prices won’t stay low forever but if you bag it now you could have yourself a great designer bag before it becomes popular with the public! See below my suggestions and please contact me for more information. have a great birthday!

Leather Handbags – How to Get the Look by Lenka http://bagservant.co.uk/content/leather-handbags-how-to-get-the-look-by-samantha/ http://bagservant.co.uk/content/leather-handbags-how-to-get-the-look-by-samantha/#comments Tue, 25 Sep 2012 07:49:45 +0000 http://bagservant.co.uk/content/?p=18492184362 It seems as though every designer, high-street store and stylists have gone leather-happy this autumn. From leather jackets to shoes, boots and more, we just can’t get enough. I have had lots of enquiries from our followers asking which leather handbag they should invest in. But, there is no single answer to this question. There are many variations of the classic leather handbag; soft Saffiano leather, bright leather, stud embellished leather bags, large/small, glittery/metallic leathers, and the list goes on. I am embracing this new trend and have bought the Steve Madden Bpunkie bag (see below) for an everyday handbag as it combines two seasonal trends: studs and leather. But, if money was no object I would be heading straight for the Valentino Black Leather Rockstud Satchel (also below.) So whether you are looking for a funky leather clutch to put a spin on an evening outfit or an everyday handbag to stay right on trend, we have lots of gorgeous leather handbags for you to choose from. Let me know which one you pick!

Love Lenka X

Stella McCartney to the rescue! The Life of Style Guru Lenka… http://bagservant.co.uk/content/stella-mccartney-to-the-rescue-the-life-of-style-guru-samantha-servant/ http://bagservant.co.uk/content/stella-mccartney-to-the-rescue-the-life-of-style-guru-samantha-servant/#comments Mon, 06 Aug 2012 15:48:35 +0000 http://bagservant.co.uk/content/?p=18492183493 My Adventure with my Stella McCartney Black Falabella Faux Fur Tote!

Hey there lovely followers!

How are you all doing? What a week it’s been! With team GB doing such a great job at the Olympics I was absolutely delighted when I got the chance to spend the day at the stadium last week. First of all, I must say the hard-work that the volunteers have put in is amazing and they are doing a wonderful job! The stadium is also such a beautiful sight and the atmosphere there is electric. I didn’t ever think I’d get so into the games, but it seems unavoidable not to be ridiculously patriotic!

Anyway, I had a bit of a dilemma. The day I went to watch the games I had a dinner party that evening that I had been looking forward to for months. It was supposed to be a really posh affair and a chance to network with some influential people. What with having to trek to the other side of London and the transport being a little behind at the moment I knew I wouldn’t have a chance to go home and change. I didn’t want to miss out on either event so I racked my brains for an outfit and a bag that could easily be transformed from day to night.

In the end I settled for a maxi dress with flip flops for the games and decided to pack some heels, jewellery and make-up to quickly transform my look from day to night on the train. But what bag could I possibly take that would fit my heels and daily essentials but still look smart and sophisticated for the dinner party?

My loyal and classic Stella McCartney Black Falabella Tote Faux Fur shoulder bag did not let me down! It really is such a must-have! When I bought it my bank balance really hated me for a while – but I have since proved it wrong as I have had so much use out of it already and am confident I’ll be using it for years to come.

The great thing about this bag is that it’s foldable. In the day it was packed with a bottle of water, an umbrella (unpredictable British weather!), my heels for the evening, make-up, wallet, phone and snacks! But by the time I had taken the shoes out and thrown away the empty bottle, I was able to fold the bag into a clutch. Someone at the dinner party even commented on how much they liked it – I was chuffed!

So all in all, a very successful (albiet tiring!) day! Only negative was there wasn’t much food I could eat at the dinner – I know I am way too fussy! But luckily, after a little light complaining I was given some free wine and that kept me more than happy for the rest of the night!

See you soon

Introducing Lenka: BagServant's Style Queen… http://bagservant.co.uk/content/introducing-miss-samantha-servant/ http://bagservant.co.uk/content/introducing-miss-samantha-servant/#comments Wed, 25 Jul 2012 16:34:25 +0000 http://bagservant.co.uk/content/?p=18492182943

 To: All Bag Lovers

From: Lenka

Subject: BagServant’s New Recruit

Date: 25th July 2012

Dear Bag lovers everywhere !

I’m BagServant’s new recruit – Lenka, and I am here at your service for all your style advice and enquiries.

As a self-confessed bag addict and dedicated fashionista I have been giving my friends style advice for as long as I can remember and therefore am utterly delighted to be joining the BagServant team where I can chat about my fav bags all day long!

From high street to designer I am on constant look out for those extra special bags – and although I have been known to splash out for a designer bag, I am also a big fan of nabbing a bargain! The adrenalin of carrying home that carefully wrapped new purchase beats any other high! Someone very wise once said a girl can never have too many bags – and I completely agree! Admittedly, I am a bit of a label lover – from classic Chanel to trendy Christian Louboutin. But that said, there’s nothing I love more than discovering a new, fresh off the block, a bit rough around the edges, designer.

So, here at the height of summer, my diary begins. I’ll be keeping you up-to-date with all my new purchases, telling you about my adventures and those cringingly embarrassing stories. I’ll be filling you in on those new designers and who are “the ones to watch.” You’ll be able to see what bag I took to what event, what shoes/clothes I teamed it with and I’ll be giving you my shamefully honest opinions of all the latest collections. I hope you get some style inspiration from my entries and have a giggle and some of my misfortunes!

See you soon
