What Are They Made Of?

The Del Rey totes are made in a variety of materials. This season the leather totes are made of either glossy goat skin, shiny goat skin or grainy calf skin. Each three of these leathers give off different effects. The glossy goat leather is a smooth and soft leather that gives a natural, relaxed finish to the bag. The shiny goat skin gives a more luxurious feel to the bag as it has the shiny finish added on top of the leather. The Calf skin is soft and supple which has a printer shrunken grain effect on the bag.

How Big Are They?

Like most other Mulberry tote bags, the Del Rey is roomy. It is a structured bag but it is not as organised inside as other Mulberry bags such as the Bayswater Double Zip tote. There is only one main compartment to the Del Rey and it contains one zipped pocket and one slip pocket. Dimension wise the standard Del Rey leather tote measures in at 24cm x 34 cm x 16.5cm. Though Mulberry have recently released a miniature version of the Del Rey to be on trend for AW13 which comes with a handy detachable strap.

And this week we were lucky enough to go and visit the handbags in person with blogger ‘TheFashMcQueen’. It was great to get a feel for all the handbags, but there was one bag that really stuck in our minds and made it to our ‘got-to-have-this-now’ handbag list, the Anya Sushko Karolina Day Bag.

Handbag Experience 

This handbag feels luxurious and feminine to carry and is an uber-practical office bag. However, the bag was slightly smaller in person than we had anticipated and although it would fit an iPad, there is not room for much else. But keep in mind, all Anya’s bags are hand-made and can be customised to be bigger or smaller to suit your personal needs – how fabulous is that!?!

When and Where is it Perfect for?

Perfect to carry to the office, out and about on the weekend or even out with you in the evening, as it relatively petite and ultra elegant. The Anya Sushko Karolina Day Bag is available in three colours; black, green and nude. The brown Anya Sushko Karolina bag is the ideal bag for Boardroom Perfectionists as it is sleek and chic, has a quirky structure and will fit most things you need for the boardroom. The olive green Anya Sushko Karolina bag is superb for Trendsetters. If we were to buy one of these cute Anya Sushko handbags, we would customise it to meet our needs. We would make the size a little bigger in order to fit a small laptop and more office essentials – (yes our Editor is SUCH a Big Bag Lover!) We would also choose the suede interior for an added touch of elegance. The Karolina day bag is a fabulous and functional handbag, add this to the fact you can design your own personal touches, makes it the perfect handbag for any woman.

Yes – not only does it LOOK like a Prada bag, it’s made from the same exquisite leather, Saffiano leather. The leather is tanned by one of Italy’s most famous and prestigious tanneries. The mottled Saffiano grained leather is tanned with plant extracts, then deep-dyed. The two tones give the pattern special depth and modernity. Saffiano is water repellent, holds it’s shape better than normal leather and will resist scratches. So many designers are bringing out collections using this heavenly material – it’s a new trend in itself!

Best Colour to Pick 

As mentioned this bag comes in either black, camel or burgundy. We LOVE the black version. It goes with everything, looks sleek and smart. However, the burgundy adds a spark of colour to an all black outfit and the camel would great matched to shoes and a belt.

If you haven’t already guessed, we are head-over-heels, passionately in love with this handbag! Anyone who ever admired the Prada bag will understand. It is everything we could want from a bag – made from gorgeous Saffiano leather, the perfect size, comprises lots of compartments and can be hand held or carried from the shoulder. We think it’s the best take on the Prada bag we have ever seen and at such a modest price of £254 you really can’t go wrong. Go on girls, treat yourself!
