The trend:

On a recent visit to John Lewis and Selfridges, the BagServant team couldn’t help but notice this gorgeous material almost everywhere we looked. DKNY, Tory Burch, Michael Kors and Paul Smith are just a few of the designers crafting handbags using the exquisite Saffiano leather this season.

 What is Saffiano leather?

Saffiano leather is a high resistant, durable and very elegant type of leather. The distinctive markings on this leather is a series of diagonal lines and was originally used to make Prada handbags. In fact, indications are that the Saffiano leather was actually invented by Mario Prada himself! In any case, this design creates a highly scratch resistant surface making this type of leather ideal for office and everyday use handbags that you want to last the test of time.

How is it made?

The leather is tanned by one of Italy’s most famous and prestigious tanneries. The mottled Saffiano grained leather is tanned with plant extracts then deep-dyed. The two tones give the pattern special depth and modernity.

Why do we love it?

Well, of course the fact that it lasts longer and resists scratches and marks is great news for us. But, this isn’t the only reason we love it. We think it looks sleeker and more elegant than average leather and on top of that it’s super soft! There’s no denying that every girl wanted a Prada handbag at some point in their lives, but now they can get the Prada look without the Prada price tag! This is one of favourite bag trends of this season and we are certain you’ll love it too!

We love the metallic Kzeniya Wild Chain Clutches but it is SO hard to choose a favourite. In gold, silver or an extra shiny metallic colour, the bags are made from leather and certainly add a spring to your step when you walk out with this gorgeous arm candy. The Kzeniya Wild Chain Clutch is also available in pony skin and with a zebra pattern – ideal for those with a wild fashion sense. For next season’s collection, Kzeniya is introducing a newer and bigger Wild Chain Clutch, we love this one too! The bags feel so elegant on your arm but also quirky, original and trendy. We can’t get enough.

When and where is it perfect for?

The Kzeniya Wild Chain Clutch just wants to be taken out to have fun. On a girly night out at a cocktail bar, dancing till dawn or in a stylish upmarket restaurant. This bag really comes out to play after dark. Trendsetters will love the exclusivity of the bag and the fact that it will be different from anything else in the shops. A true Glamourpuss will just adore the sex appeal and style the clutch carries. But, here at BagServant, we think any one of our personalities would fall in love with this bag if they had it on their arm.

Interior

With logo-printed lining, the Kzeniya Wild Chain Clutch is stylish through and through. With an inside slip pocket perfect for your credit card or phone, you can stay organised even on a night out. With enough room for those evening essentials such as lipstick, money and keys, you couldn’t ask for more from a clutch. But, be careful not to overfill – you wouldn’t want it to become heavy or uncomfortable to carry.

Material 

As mentioned, the Kzeniya Wild Chain Clutch is available in calf skin, high-quality leather, faux tiger fur or pony skin. The original chains that hang from either side of the clutch bag are made from metal and really add the finishing touches to an already special design. Remember to always use specialist leather cleaner when cleaning bags like this.

Best colour to pick 

We LOVE the black and orange animal print clutch bag (above) and also the gold one. As we are quickly entering party season, the gold and silver clutches add a bit of sparkle to a plain outfit and would look fabulous teamed with gold or silver shoes and a black dress. We adore the one off metallic version of the Kzeniya Wild Chain Clutch bag (below) but this is part of Kzeniya’s limited addition collection.

You may have realised by now that we love this cute and fun clutch bag. It just stand outs more than any other clutch we have seen around for a while. Having something different is really important to us – who wants to look like everyone else?! As we mentioned, celebs already love this bag AND the clutches are currently being stocked exclusively at Selfridges – that really says it all doesn’t it? We love the Kzeniya Wild Chain Clutch and would have it in every colour, size and material if we could. Starting from around £240, they are great value for money. We think they are going to fly off the shelves in no time – so invest in one while you still can!

Made from the softest python skin, the quality of the bag is evident from the moment you touch it. Buttery soft and smooth, you couldn’t ask for a better material.

Best colour to pick 

Available in a range of colours, it is so hard to pick a favourite. A slight change from last season, the Maison Du Posh Knuckle Python Clutch is now available in Caribbean blue, rose alabaster, silver and black.  BagServant’s favourites are the Caribbean blue (below) and the metallic silver (above).

BagServant’s thoughts

We love a bag that’s original and that has a bit of attitude – and this bag ticks all the boxes. The small bags start at around £395 and range up to around £625. For this kind of high quality and luxury, we think this is a great price. For an established designer brand that creates quirky and unique pieces, we were expecting a much higher price. We will certainly be saving our pennies to bag one of these beauties. Be different and get on board with the Maison Du Posh trend!
