Classically renowned for its distinctive tartan print and simple trench coat designs, British brand Burberry has played host to spokesmodels such as Emma Watson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. With a large fragrance collection as well as clothing and accessories, the company has recently taken on a new clientele with a much more casual and street-aware attitude.
The first store opened in Basingstoke, in 1856, by former draper’s apprentice Thomas Burberry. The early pieces focused on the growth of outdoor attire, and the early success meant that Burberry’s designs were quickly flaunted across London, where a new store was opened in Haymarket. Currently the brand is under the reins of Christopher Bailey and remains focused on classical and elegant designs.
