Famous for clashing wildly sexy pieces such as skyscraper heels and lacy lingerie with masculine shirts and pinstripes, Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are at the frontier of fashion. Their Milan-based fashion house designs statement clothing and accessories as well as successful sunglasses, beauty and fragrance ranges sold worldwide.
The designers first opened their company back in 1985, with two lines – Dolce&Gabbana and D & G. The first, discontinued after Spring 2012, kept a formal image, with pieces that mirrored long-term trends rather than seasonal changes. The second was hipper, broke the rules and “set the trends”.
Most of the designs are elaborate and bustling with personality. The jewel clutches and chain bags make for the perfect statement evening bag – they come in a range of ruthless bright colours, zebra print and plenty of sequin detail and instantly brighten up any outfit. While their tote and shopper bags are equally as fun with touches of fur, floral print and deer skin in bags just the right size for a lunch date or a shopping trip with the girls.
Woman who love to dress up, feeling sexiest in stilettos and luxurious fabrics – lace, silk, fur and plenty of sparkling jewellery. The designers admit that: “The Dolce & Gabbana woman is strong. She likes herself and knows she is liked.”
