Standing at the luxury end of high street fashion, Ted Baker’s innovative approach to fashion and styling with fun, modern twists has earned it a host of fans. Since its launch in 1988 with a focus on men’s shirts, the company now sell everything from simple t-shirts, to evening dresses, and of course, handbags.
The first store was opened in Glasgow, selling the designs of Ray Kelvin, and with a limited fund he chose to gain customers relying solely on word of mouth. Quickly he came to establish himself in other cities, such as Plymouth and Nottingham, and in 1990 opened his first London store, in Covent Garden.
Not afraid of a bright spark of colour, and with a huge patent obsession, Ted Baker’s designs are fun and glossy. The purses are particularly striking, and not only for the wild pops of coral and hot pink. Styles like the Jennar Heart and Matinee come in functional rectangle shapes and work elegantly with any handbag. We also love the Studded Envelope Clutch for its timeless evening style, and easy flash of bling to any outfit.
The confident show-offs. You look better than Victoria Beckham in those skinny jeans and stilettos and you know it. These designs certainly grab attention, in a classic and trend-setting way.
