Autumn/Winter Fashion Handbag Trends 2012/13

Here at BagServant, we pride ourselves on being a little different – especially when it comes to new trends. Instead of just stating the obvious, our team of stylists search high and low for those extra special styles that may have gone unnoticed.

So here you have it, our favourite five trends for AW12/13 – as seen here first!  Remember, you can always rely on BagServant to get you ahead of the game!

1) Be a Chic Yummy Mummy with Stella McCartney

Just because you’re a super practical and multi-tasking mummy now, it doesn’t mean you have lost your style identity. BagServant loves these classic but cool leather clutches from Stella McCartney. They are foldable and compact and ideal to keep inside your baby bag. Heading for a day out? Pack your usual bag with all the baby essentials but place your bare minimals (money, phone, dummy, etc.) in this gorgeous clutch. So, when popping in to a shop or cafe you can leave the bulky bag in the car and just carry this.

See? It’s easier to be a Chic Yummy Mummy than you thought! We are sure you’ll find them as functional and fashionable as us!

2) Monochrome prints

As seen by Versace, Moschino and Roberto Cavalli on the catwalks lately, monochrome prints are coming back with a bang next season. The prints add glamour to any outfits and here at BagServant we are loving the Paul Smith Accessories Swirl Aqua Bowling bag.

The monochromatic palette is classic, clean and super chic, and can be worn day or night which makes it insanely versatile! Admittedly, monochrome prints can seem a bit daunting to wear if on a dress or skirt and may not suit all body shapes. But, carrying a monochrome handbag adds the latest style to your outfit and is a fun and funky accessory.

3) Perfect Purple

A purple haze descended on the Autumn 12 international shows in each of the major cities recently. In London, Christopher Kane showcased his collection on a lavender carpet, with knitwear and dress details taking on the shade. While in Milan, Gucci also showcased a number of purple accessories. Being the girly girls that we are – we are utterly delighted that the colour has catapulted back into our lives. We love this Jimmy Choo Glitter Clutch!

4) Faultless Fur

Fur – an age old fashion trend that just won’t die. Autumn 2012 will see the arrival of many new fur bags in the high-street and on the catwalk – from the puffball effect clutches to the short-haired shoulder bags, they are the ‘one’ to carry this winter. Astrakhan in particular, a close-cropped, wavy lamb fur, is making a big noise in the fashion industry at the moment – but all types of fur are hitting the shops so take your pick from our collection. This Givenchy Pandora Fur bag makes us instantly fall in love with the trend!

5) Mismatch

Last but not least, we have BagServant’s personal trend prediction. Our team has been out and about over the last few months at events such as Wimbledon and Ascot and has noticed a new trend amongst the public – mismatching. Back in the day it was considered a crime to leave the house if your shoes and bag didn’t match! But fear not fashion followers, this rule seems to no longer apply. With the credit crunch still very much apparent in our everyday lives it seems as though it is now ok to mismatch shoes and bags with outfits and hats. Last season’s dress can simply be renovated by adding a new and stylish accessory from this season. Just add a funky clutch, such as the Lulu Guinness Rose Gold Metallic Snakeskin Lips Clutch, and that classic LBD that you’ve had in the back of the wardrobe for years will look brand new again! Great news for us all!
