Last Friday evening, we waved goodbye to a drizzly London for a few hours, and boarded a train armed wearing killer heels, a must-see new Riki Rosetta Orange Lizard Clutch, and of course our camera. Our destination? The charming village of Olney about 15 minutes by car from Milton Keynes?
The event? The much #Tweeted about fashion event of the year – the press launch of POP The Fashion Store. POP’s owner and our lovely hostess for the evening was fashion journalist, blogger, fitness instructor and busy mum-of-three Kaisa Larkas-Mossop. We were greeted with full glasses of champagne and a delicious table of canapes along with colourful strawberry and mojito mini cupcakes. Surrounded by gorgeous jewellery, handbags, shoes, and clothing, we knew that this was going to be a very good night. We made our way downstairs to the main boutique area, but not before grabbing a second piece of the delectable peanut butter fudge.
We were particularly keen to see the range of Jane Goodchild handbags, and we were not disappointed. From the oversized soft-leather clutches, purses and shoulder bags. In an array of hand-crafted and ecological pop-block colours of bright orange, blue, glittery gold and yellow. We love Janes trademark silver star motif and her liberal use of tassels, zips and studs. This is a definite must-have for the Eco-Glamazon.
We were also completely ‘sole-struck’ by the stunning range of peep-toe and shoe-boot wedges by FINSK. We have our eagle-eye on exactly what we want, which is a hard choice, because Kaise has the entire Skin by FINSK SS12 collection in store.
Kaisa brings her love of fashion and unusual labels with an ethical edge under the one POP roof. She has taken over a very cute stone cottage-style building at the end of a cobbled lane-way adorned with galleries and independent shops full of objects d’art.
