Known for their cars, Bentley have announced the launch of an exclusive line of handbags that are inspired by speed. Bentley motors are known worldwide for their premium autos that are ultra-luxurious and are the desire of the rich. Now they have turned to a new venture in to bringing the same service that they give to their cars to a new line of handbags.
Bentley are not the first car manufacturers to venture from automobiles to handbags. Ferrari have been creating luxurious man bags for a while now but Bentley are the first to take on ‘womenswear’. The first collection consists of two handbags; the first bag is the Barnato handbag, named after Diana Barnato Walker MBE who is one of the founder’s daughters. The second of the two bags is the continental bag which is inspired by the car range that bares the same name. Both handbags have a simple structured exterior and a luxurious, practical interior that is similar to the Bentley cars.
The bags come in a variety colours and are priced at £4,800 and £3,800. PurseBlog compares the new range to leading luxury accessories brand, Hermes, but states that the new Bentley collection does not live up to the Hermes standard and is neither on trend or feminine. Luxury Travel Magazine gives the new collection a more positive review and makes in depth comparisons between the current cars and the new handbags.
