Delvaux: Exclusive at Selfridges – Our Top Picks

Today BagServant went on another trip to Selfridges to sample their handbags from the luxurious brand Delvaux. At the press event we got up close and personal with this brand and Selfridges’ beautiful collection of 64 pieces and learnt a great deal about the thinking behind their design and the exclusive models made especially for the store. Their collection combines the timeless style and design of a Delvaux handbag and an eye popping bright colour luxury leather.

We were told that the timeless and discreetly elegant shape of the handbags appeal to women who don’t like to follow trends but they make their own choices. It is the kind of accessory that would become a family heirloom, something to pass down from mother to daughter for generations, which is not an exaggeration as Delvaux prides itself on providing a quality repair service for their customers as we mentioned in our last post.

Now this isn’t to say these bags are only for older women looking for an item to pass down to their children, the brand has aimed this collection towards young, contemporary women who like to have a signature piece hanging in their wardrobe. Their belief is that the bags tell their own story, they have soul inside. We recommend these bags for the Confident Classique and the Boardroom Perfectionist wanting a showstopping bag at her next meeting with a client.

Selfridges Buying Director Sebastian Manes had this to say about the Selfridges and Delvaux collaboration: “We see a lot of potential in the Delvaux brand and, as well as an incredible history, the collections cater for our fashion savvy customers. The classic, recognisable shapes like the ‘Brilliant’ are already very popular and for the launch we will offer some exclusive colour combinations never seen before. The beautiful modern styles like the ‘Madame’ are so chic, and will also appeal to our younger customers. All of the pieces are so beautifully made; you really have to see them to appreciate the craftsmanship.”
