Handbag Trends: On The Way To The Royal Ascot Ladies' Day

The Royal Ascot Ladies Day is the highlight of the summer for every stylish British woman. It is their opportunity to display their oh so chic outfits, often topped off with a flamboyant hat. When we were out on Ladies’ Day, the hats were the least of our concerns, however beautiful some of them were (and they were). We wanted to find out what handbags the fashion-savvy race-goers were carrying.

It seems the community of Big Bag Lovers  is ever-growing as many opted for larger handbags to complement their Ascot outfits. The colour scheme of the day geared towards sunset colours; plenty of  warm reds, vibrant oranges and hot pinks.

Our predictions were that we would be faced with a sea of glamorous occasion clutches. None the less, the big bags that we caught sight of were gorgeous.  Contrary to our observations, the pictures that the press picked up on seemed to conform to the black and white theme that was featured on the official Ladies’ Day poster. From celebs to ordinary folk, black and white clutch bags were seen in the hands of many.

Check out these women in their big, bold and bright bags.

The Ladies Day attendees didn’t entirely ditch clutches for the Ascot. Many made their clutch the centre of attention by going  for a neutral coloured dress and a statement clutch.
