With a fine heritage in providing beautiful, durable bags that match our desire to look stylish whilst protecting our ‘tech and a range that goes from ‘elegant gentleman’ to colour-popping quilting, it’s not for nothing that Knomo’s fans include people as diverse as Boris Johnson, Pippa Middleton, and the girls from Stooshe. As someone who loves her Knomo ‘Slim’ laptop bag with a passion but is now in need of something to encase her iPad mini, I was extremely excited to see the Knomo Silvi.
Handbag Experience
This cross body bag feels extremely high quality, practical and comfortable but is definitely not boring! The full grain pebbled leather outer and tactile gold hardware provide a touch of luxury, with the dark pink hue making it feminine without being too girly. It will comfortably fit an iPad / tablet, mobile phone, keys and purse but it is worth being aware that it isn’t deep enough for an A4 pad (but you have an iPad – so no problem there!). It also features front, back, organiser, and interior compartments meaning that everything has its place. For a bag of its size it is surprisingly roomy! The quilted interior is well made and thick enough to properly protect your iPad screen from the rest of your bag contents. The zips are extremely well made and able to withstand the heaviest of commutes, but the practicality of its design is balanced out by the fact that it is pretty enough to take to lunch.
When and Where is it Perfect for?
Perfect for the office and weekend day-wear, this is a welcome addition to any working woman’s wardrobe. The only thing that prevents it from being more versatile is the canvas strap. The width and easy adjustability makes sure the weight of the bag is evenly distributed and prevents any sagging but is just a little too ‘sensible’ for evening drinks. Were there a more elegant strap that you could attach when not on your daily commute it would make for a very versatile bag indeed.
Interior
The interior of the Silvi Teaberry Pink is an extremely soft, quilted lining in rich purple which offsets the exterior perfectly. The finish and the padding makes it luxurious to the touch and also means that there’s no danger of the contents of your bag ‘snagging’ as can happen with silk or bags with other fine linings. It carries a unique Knomo reference number that you can use to register your bag online and increase the chances that you will be reunited should it ever go missing. This is a particularly special touch that you might only expect to come with more exclusive designers and shows that Knomo knows its customers truly treasure their bags.
Material
The leather bags in the Silvi range are made from soft tumbled full-grain leather which makes it really pleasing to handle but tough enough to withstand the course of a working day. The edges are beautifully sealed and the finish is faultless. So confident are Knomo that they will guarantee the craftsmanship for two years. The interior is super-soft and Scotch-Guarded to protect from any accidents. The quilted nylon option gives you a very durable exterior, is lighter-weight for those of you that want to feel like you’re not even wearing a bag, and comes in a greater choice of colours than its leather companion.
Best Colour to Pick
The Knomo Silvi cross-body bag is available in eight colours: Teaberry pink pebbled leather, Black pebbled leather and then the following in quilted nylon: Dragonfly, Black, Teaberry, Ultraviolet, Purple and Khaki. The quilted Knomo Silvi in Dragonfly would work perfectly for you if you’re a Sporty Luxe kind of girl due to the high-performance fabric and fizzing colour combination. In black leather it would suit Boardroom Perfectionists to a tee given its structured styling, but I like my bags with a twist so for me it has to be the Teaberry Pink Leather. What is particularly special about this colour is that it reacts to lighting changing it from deep red to almost iridescent pink – it might make choosing your outfits a little more difficult but is guaranteed to give you an instant lift when you start your day.

If we were to buy one of these Knomo cross body bags, we would customise it to meet our needs. We would make the size just a little bigger to compensate for those meetings where we’re given bag specifications on glossy A4. We would also take Toni’s idea to have more than one strap for this bag to give it added versatility and make it just a little more feminine.
