Who? What? Where? When?
The ergonomic, yet stylish label Tila March was borne solely out of designer, Tamara Taichmans’ desire for a handbag that would be both practical and chic enough to see her through the hectic fashion weeks of Paris, Milan and New York. This French female designer was originally a successful fashion editor, who in a bid to create her ideal fashion week friendly handbag, asked her husband to actually make one of her sketched designs. The original ‘Tila March Zelig tote’ was created! Once it had found its way into high-end retail stores it became a hit with A-list celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker, Sienna Miller and Kirsten Dunst, who were then donning favourites like the Tila March Dora Boston Bag and the Tila March Pompon shoulder bag. Tila March had taken off!
We love a good love story here at BagServant and it turns out that the brand name Tila March comes from a place of romance! ‘Tila’ is a mixture of Tamara and her husband’s name, Nicolas; whilst March is the month they met.
Tamara went on to design and create collections which have gone from strength to strength, branching out into many other lines and successful shoe collections. We love the subtly stylish satchel-esque nature of her designs along with the wide selection of gorgeously practical totes and oversized clutches. Perfectly Parisian, this is certainly one designer we will be buying into as a favourite of ours and with a Tila March sale on selected pieces… we are first in line!
